HORNE, Mrs. Mary Ann -- The death occurred at her home, 9 Rottenburg Street, Thursday, of Mrs. Mary Ann Horne, aged 91 years. Surviving are six daughters and five sons. The funeral will be held Saturday morning to St. Mary's Cathedral for 10 o'clock High Mass. Interment in Mount Olivet cemetery.

MRS. AGNES M. CRESSWELL
The friends of Mrs. Agnes Meikle Cresswell will regret to learn of her death at her home, 5 ½ Edward Street, Friday morning, October16. Funeral services will be held at the Cruikshank Funeral Home at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be from Christ Church, Amherst, Sunday afternoon.

SIMEON BELLIVEAU
METEGHAN STATION, Oct. 16 – The death of Simeon Belliveau, 48, took place suddenly at his home here Oct. 15. He had worked all day, as usual at the Clare Shipbuilding, Meleghan. Surviving are his wife, Eugenie Comeau and ten children, Mrs. Daly Gaudet of Little Brook; Catherine, Alda, Cecille, Yvonne, and the baby, aged one-year, Arcade, Basil, Emile, Eddie; three brothers, Leo of Mavilette; Edmund, Medford, Mass.; Olivier of Grosses Coques.

THERESA CHIASSON
S. JOSEPH DU MOINE, C.B., Oct. 16 – A well known and highly respected young woman of this community, Theresa Chiasson, passed away at her home here on Thursday, Oct. 8 at the age of 29. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emilien Chiasson and had a wide circle of friends and relatives and her death will be sincerely regretted. Besides her parents she is survived by four brothers, Philias, serving on the Merchant Marine; Gunner Edward stationed in Petawawa, Ont., and Amede and Clifford at home; two sisters also survived, Mrs. Edward Leblanc residing at St. Joseph Du Moine; and Mary Helen, at home. Funeral service was held at 4 o’clock on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.A. Decoste, P.P. Interment was in St. Joseph cemetery.

MISS MELISSA STEPHENS
LOCKEPORT, Oct. 16 – The death occurred on Thursday morning of an aged respected citizen of East Green Harbor, in the persons of Miss Melissa Stephens, at the age of 80 years. She has spent her entire life there and will be buried in the family lot on the homestead. She is survived by a sister Lydia, who has tenderly cared for her, two brothers, Edward and Alonzo all at home. The funeral will be on Saturday.

MISS BRIDGET DONOHOE
The friends of Miss Bridget Donohoe will be saddened by the news of her sudden death, Thursday, Oct. 15, at the home of her niece Mrs. R.N. Carroll. Miss Donohoe was born in Halifax 74 years ago and has lived here all her life. A devout Catholic, she was in turn a member of St. Mary’s Parish and then of St. Theresa’s. The funeral will be held in time for 8 o’clock Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, Saturday, Oct. 17. Interment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery.

MISS ELIZA CONRAD
BRIDGEWATER, Oct. 16 – An esteemed resident of Cherry Hill, Miss Eliza Conrad, passed away at her home there at the age of 86 years. For the past twenty-five years she had made her home with her brother, Forbes Conrad. Previous to that she had resided for the greater part of her life in the United States. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Conrad. The funeral was held from the home of her brother and was conducted by Rev. Walter Harris, rector of the Anglican Church. Interment was at Cherry Hill cemetery.

ALEXANDER CONRAD
BROAD COVE, Oct. 16 – The death occurred at his home here Tuesday evening of Alexander (Sandy) Conrad, at the age of 61 years. He seemed to be in his usual good health and had been at Lunenburg during the day. Shortly after returning home he passed away from a heart attack. He was the last surviving member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Conrad of this place and is survived by his wife, formerly Ella Dagley of Vogler’s Cove. The funeral was held from his home and the Anglican Church Thursday afternoon by the Rev. H. Clarke of LaHave.

MRS. WALTER JORDAN
LOCKEPORT – Oct. 16 – Mrs. Bessie Stevens Jordan, wife of Walter Jordan of 79 East Street, North Grafton, Mass., died last night at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, Mass. She was born in Lockeport, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Stevens, and had lived here many years. She was a member of Unit 92, American Legion Auxiliary, and was 41 years of age. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Doris and June Jordan, a sister Alicia, wife of Curtis Fitzgerald and a brother Quentin of Lockeport. The funeral will be at the La Chapelle Funeral Home at Worcester with a Solemn High Mass of Requiem at 9:30 in St. Mary’s Church, North Graton. Burial will be in St. Phillips cemetery, Grafton, Mass.

LLOYD T. FISHER
MIDDLE STEWIACKE, Oct. 16 – Following a heart attack the death occurred on Monday, at his home here, of Lloyd T. Fisher. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. A. Fisher, he lived his entire life in this community. He was an elder of the United church. Surviving are his widow, formerly Ada Rutherford, son Vernon, at home, daughter Marjorie of Truro, daughter Laura May, Mrs. McPhee, Stewiacke; a brother Winburn of this place and a sister (Bernice) Mrs. MacKinley of Spokane, Wash. Two brothers predeceased him. The funeral was held from the United church on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. L.G. Marshall in charge. Pallbearers were members of the Ben Orangemen’s Society, Thomas Bates, Stanley Fisher, Thomas Fisher, C.A. Langille, R.B. MacLennan and Rev. Mr. Hamilton.

MISS ELIZABETH JONES – SPRINGHILL, Oct. 19 – Funeral services were held here by the Rev. W. M. Knickle of All Saints’ Anglican Church, for Elizabeth Jones, daughter of the late William Jones, Springhill, who died at Highland View Hospital, Amherst. She was born at Yorkley, England, in 1872. She came to Springhill in 1883. She graduated from All Saints’ Hospital on November 30, 1904. Miss Jones entered the Victorian Order of Nurses, working in Toronto, Saint John, Dartmouth and Edmonton until 1927. She was made a life member of the Red Cross Society. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Thomas Oulton, Mrs. William Graven, Sr., Miss Annie Jones of Springhill; Mrs. Colin Dorson of Sussex, N. B., Four brothers, Hubert, Edwin, James and Sidney Jones.

RAYMOND RENO – Following a lengthy illness the death of Raymond Reno occurred Monday afternoon, Oct. 19, at his residence, 152 Preston Street. He was born at Herring Cove 65 years ago but had resided in Halifax for the past thirty years. Surviving besides his wife are one son, Edward, of Sheet Harbour, three daughters, Margaret and Anne, at home and Mary, Mrs. A. Carl Kirby, 6 Vienna St.; three sisters, Mrs. Elena Thomas, Mrs. Etta Scallion and Mrs. Mary Doyle; three brothers, Peter, Alfred and Leonard of Halifax. Funeral will be held from his late residence Wednesday morning in time for 9 o’clock Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Interment will be in St. Paul’s cemetery, Herring Cove.

JOSEPH ELMORE CHAPMAN – AMHERST, Oct. 19 – A well-known citizen of Brookdale passed away Saturday night at Highland View Hospital, following a three weeks illness of pneumonia, in the person of Joseph Elmore Chapman at the age of 74 years. The deceased was born at Amherst Head, but some fifty years ago moved to Brookdale where he has since resided. For a time he was interested in the lumber business in Amherst, where he was well and favorably known. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him and his passing will be deeply regretted by a large circle of friends. He was a member of the United Church of Brookdale. Besides his wife, the former Isadora Chapman of Chapman Settlement, he is survived by eight daughters and two sons. The daughters are Vennie (Mrs. Guy Nelson of Boston), Mabel of Boston, Beatrice (Mrs. C. A. Hamm), and Louise, both of Los Angeles; Nora (Mrs. H. B. Bacon of Nappan), Maude (Mrs. G. L. Jollymore of Amherst); Thelma (Mrs. H. C. Atkinson) and Gwendolyn (Mrs. William Warren), both of Charlottetown; the sons are Gordon of Lisbon, N. H., and Edgar at home. The funeral service will be held from the home in Brookdale Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.
